The "Bench sculpture" is one of Zanine Caldas’ most iconic works. Sculpted out of a single block of wood, it not only shows his technical prowess but also beautifully conveys the artist’s naturalistic inspiration. A lifelong advocate against deforestation, he uses cut down and unwanted trees of the Amazon jungle to create his furniture pieces. In his entire body of work the "Bench sculpture" is his most well known and rare creation.
