This pair of armchairs is one of Eugene Printz’s most iconic models. They were a great success from their first exhibition in the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs in 1935, and were manufactured during the artist’s lifetime. The first pairs, like ours, were made of high quality American walnut, each carved out of a single block of wood. These models are extremely rare today. In later productions of this model, the chairs were created with more affordable types of wood, and carved out of two blocks rather than one.
