In the beginning of 1990s, Claude Lalanne was commissioned to create a magnificent chandelier for the grand staircase of the Conseil Constitutionel de Paris in Palais Royal square. Around the same time, she produced our one-of-a-kind chandelier for her close friend and early collector, Madame X, to be displayed in her exotic winter garden. This is a rare example where Claude Lalanne used a green antico patina, which perfectly integrated into the garden, already dotted with her and Francois-Xavier Lalanne’s various other whimsical creations. Finely crafted by the artist herself, this work is a wonderful example of Claude Lalanne’s artistic vision inspired by the natural world.
